The Kiss . . . of DEATH!

It was October 21, 1964, and 70 year old actress Ella Margaret Gibson, silent motion picture actress using the screen names 'Margaret Gibson' and 'Patricia Palmer,' was dying when she whispered that she was the one who shot and killed William Desmond Taylor. On the evening of February 1, 1922, silent screen star Mabel Normand visited Taylor sometime after 7pm and witnesses saw Taylor walk Normand to her car about 7:45pm. The next morning when his butler arrived for the day Taylor was discovered shot dead. Near him was the monogrammed negligee of another screen star, Mary Miles Minter, and both she and her mother were considered likely suspects, and it ended her acting career. The murder was never officially 'solved' and no evidence was found that could prove the identity of the real killer. William Desmond Taylor directed several cutting edge silent movies before his death, but only acted in front of the camera one time . . . . making this 10 minute silent movie in 1914 . . . with the lady that would later confess to shooting him dead. This picture has been assumed to be lost forever, but a less than perfect copy was recently discovered, and here it is! Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with warm melted butter on it and enjoy the show . . . and for extra credit . . . count how many times confessed killer Patricia Palmer got kissed on her left cheek.
