There's No Chance . . . For a Girl Like Me . . .
A young girl runs through the woods with fear in her eyes . . . she spots a row boat at the edge of a lake and gets in and starts rowing across the lake . . . on the other side of the lake a man watches . . . when she falls out of the boat and struggles to stay afloat the man rushes to his dock, jumps into the lake and saves her, pulling her back to the dock and taking her to his home . . . she lies unconscious till morning. Dixie, played by Jacqueline Logan, recovers and the man who saved her from drowning, Dean Richardson, played by Ian Keith, asks her to marry him. She accepts on the condition that he never, ever asks her about her past . . . NEVER. Wealthy Dean agrees and at their wedding dinner in a nightclub Dean meets his best friend in the world, Bob Conway . . . an agent for the Federal Secret Service . . . There is trouble brewing with this combination, and it won't take long to get this story simmering. Bob is in town investigating the robbery of the Post Office by the infamous Mowbray gang, and Dixie is scared out of her mind when she discovers that Bob is a Federal Agent. Things get really messy when the head of the Mowbray gang discovers that Dixie is married to wealthy Dean and he blackmails her. The end of Dixie's secret is near and she is looking forward to losing the love of her life and going to prison as part of the notorious Mowbray gang when Secret Service Agent Bob Conway discovers her real identity. Sometimes you need a movie with buildings blowing up and ladies screaming at the top of their lungs, and sometimes you want to enjoy a great story but the noises of the movie would disturb the ones around you . . . and a silent adventure like this one is the perfect solution. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter on it and enjoy the show.
