Helping a Lady in Distress

Ken Maynard was a cowboy movie hero who had a younger brother Kermit, and young Kermit was so athletic that he performed most of the dangerous stunts that you think Ken is doing in his movie adventures. Kermit was also the stunt double for actors like George O'Brien, Edmund Lowe, Victor McLaglen and others. In this Canadian Mountie adventure he is the hero, performing his own stunts, and you will probably be amazed at what he can do with his horse Rocky. This adventure takes place in the Canadian Northwest wilderness and as our adventure opens we meet tall, handsome and clean-cut Jim Sullivan at a remote trading post, and we also meet some shaggy, rough and tough fellows who are up to something dastardly, but we have no idea what it is. Soon we learn that beautiful schoolteacher Elizabeth has traveled from her home and job in Quebec to the remote Northwest wilderness at the request of an Uncle that she hasn't seen since she was a very young child. It is soon apparent to us that the man who calls himself Uncle Henry is someone else, and along with his henchmen he intends something sinister for beautiful young Elizabeth. She is alone in this small wilderness cabin with a scheming man who claims to be her uncle, and he is trying to convince her to marry his big, burly and mean henchman Bart . . . Now . . . Stop a minute and thing . . . How many cowboy, wilderness characters can you think of named 'Bart' who are good guys? . . . 'Nuff said . . . Thank goodness clean-cut and witty Jim Sullivan gets into the picture, or Elizabeth would be in more grave danger than she already is. As a fan of old movies you know how this will go . . . Elizabeth and Jim Sullivan will be in great danger from the bad guys, and the bad guys will come very close to beating the good guys . . . Except for the heroic efforts and amazing stunts by Kermit Maynard as he teaches the bad guys a lesson they dearly need . . . So pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
