There is Luck . . . and there is Luck . . .

Tell me honestly . . . Well, I guess as you read this on the internet you are possibly thousands of miles away from me and you cannot tell me . . . But all the same, think about what you might do if . . . You are alone on a quiet street and you suddenly see a pile of cash . . . No one around . . . Cool, hard cash sitting there just waiting for someone to pick it up . . . What Luck! . . . What would you do? William Kobling is the neighborhood barber with a wife and a little girl . . . Out for a walk one evening in a nearby neighborhood he passes an open window and glances in as he walks by . . . What's that? . . . Did he see a pile of money on the desk in an empty room? . . . Nobody around . . . No one inside . . . So easy to pop through the window and grab the cash . . . Back on the sidewalk in a flash and still no one around . . . So easy . . . So lucky he was . . . What Luck! . . . But time will tell whether it was a spot of good luck . . . or the worst luck that a man could ever have. When his wife discovers that he has nicked a hundred quid she confesses that she ran up a debt at the local dress makers and needs 75 pounds to square her debt, and now her husband has the cash to get her out of trouble with the merchant . . . What Luck! . . . So Will gives his good wife the money to pay off her debt at the dressmakers, and when the merchant is informed that a pile of his bank deposit is stolen money . . . Will gets lucky again because the merchant refuses to tell the constables which customer the stolen money came from . . . What luck! . . . Until the merchant comes to the barber and blackmails him in order to keep quiet . . . What Luck! . . . Will decides he cannot go down the blackmail path with the merchant because there would be no end to it. Will must have it out with the merchant, but the coppers are watching the merchant every minute trying to discover where he got the stolen money from . . . What Luck! . . . . But wait . . . A huge fire breaks out and threatens the entire neighborhood and every constable joins the firefighters to battle the blazes and the merchant is now alone . . . very alone, without any policemen watching . . . What Luck! . . . I could go on and on, but I've gotta tell you, I have rarely seen a fellow with as much luck as Will . . . But What Luck! . . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show . . . If you feel Lucky!
