Gambling on Love . . . And Lightning

John Tracy is a millionaire who likes to gamble. He usually loses, but he is good natured about it . . . It’s only money. John has a daughter Sheila who is a bit reckless and fond of a good time. After losing a bundle at a local casino in Miami, John heads to the race track where he bets on one of his horses. He only owns horses because a friend of his lost his fortune and convinced John to take his stable of race horses.

His friend Bill, who lost his fortune, is paid to handle the horses. The horse that is running this day isn’t a winner, but there is a wild horse named Lightning that could probably win if given the chance to run in a race. The trainer and jockey have tried to tame Lightning, but the horse is too wild and cannot be ridden in a race.

John is a man of action, and he wants to see if he can tame Lightning, so he goes into the stall to meet the horse and moments later is fatally stomped to the ground and with massive internal injuries only has days to live. John’s daughter Sheila rushes from her finishing school to his side just in time to have a few words with him before he dies. Now Sheila is boss, and what a wild boss she is.

Spending money and having good times every hour of the twenty-four is her main goal, and she succeeds quite well until the money starts to run out. Like her father, Sheila thinks that if Lightning can be tamed he would be a winner, and the end of her money woes. When no one is watching, just like her father, Sheila opens the stall door and goes into the dark barn to meet Lightning. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
