The Good Little Bad Girl . . .

For me, when I watch the famous male actors who played the part of a gangster, of course the acting is superb and I take nothing away from their abilities . . . . . But . . . . . When I can watch a female actress who plays the part of a master criminal, it is a thing of beauty, and I don't mean just the physical beauty. Female actresses, indeed women in our everyday life, can be unmatched when out-witting the guys around them. Been there . . . . Been out-witted . . . . Not even close to an even match . . . . Sigh . . . . Anyway . . . . In this crime adventure Gilda is part of a New York City crime ring and she is very good at what she does, but she has had about enough. Gilda would like to quit the crime racket and move to the other side of the country with her Auntie, leaving her gangster buddies behind. When she tells the head of the gang that she is quitting, he convinces her to do one more job for them . . . . Wealthy Chester Madison has a safe full of precious jewels in the mansion of his library, but no one knows where the safe is . . . . The location of the safe is known only to Madison, and no one else. Gilda agrees to locate the safe for them before she leaves town, and then she will go to California with her Auntie. Once in California she is determined to find an honest job at a bank, and soon is in love with the bank president, and it looks like roses and a sunny future for Gilda, the gangster gone straight. While this story has several unique and ingenious plot twists, we can predict that before Gilda can achieve her happy ending the old gang from New York will find her and try to get her involved in one last bank job . . . . . Now Gilda is stuck between happy-ever-after and the bars of prison . . . . Or worse . . . . . Beware, old movie fans, do not try to predict the ending until you have witnessed the final shoot-out between the cops and the robbers . . . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
