No One Lives Forever . . .
Bill Cassidy, Johnny and Red are at the Bar 20 when they get a letter from a rancher up north with a beautiful daughter. The rancher is being rustled out of all his cattle by a mysterious outlaw named Nevada. Johnny is sweet on the rancher's daughter, but she just returned from finishing school in Boston and she isn't fond of western ranch life any more, and she isn't fond of Johnny any more.
A wealthy dude from back East has come to town and swept Margaret off her feet. Bill Cassidy and Red plan to ride north and help the rancher, but Johnny isn't invited on this adventure because the daughter doesn't want to see him anymore. Of course, Johnny is young and impetuous and he rides off on his own to try and win back the heart of the young lady.
When Cassidy and Red get near the ranch the split up . . . . Red will ride on to the ranch and Cassidy will dress like a gambler from the East and try to infiltrate the outlaw rustlers led by Nevada. It turns out that outlaw Nevada is actually the fancy dude from Boston who has swept the rancher's daughter off her feet.
Bill Cassidy calls himself Tex and infiltrates the gang, and as an excuse for traveling by, he claims that he has a grudge against a youngster named Johnny. The Boston dude has been upset because Johnny is succeeding in wooing the rancher's daughter and so outlaw Nevada, aka the fancy dude from the East, takes Cassidy to a pile of rocks overlooking the valley where Johnny and Red are watching the few cows that haven't been rustled yet. Nevada points to Johnny in the valley and tells Cassidy that now is his chance to even the score with Johnny.
Cassidy gets a bit nervous and explains that he cannot shoot Johnny in the back from this great distance with his pistols, but Nevada has a fine rifle that will do the job nicely. Cassidy's bluff has been called . . . . There is only one thing that Hopalong Cassidy can do now . . . . He takes the rifle from Nevada and carefully aims at the back of Johnny's head . . . .
