Rainbow Trout, Cold Cash, and Killers at the Totem Pole Lodge

James Newill was born in August of 1911 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but went to college at the University of Southern California and spent most of his life in California.

With a great singing voice, he was part of the Los Angeles Light Opera Company, but of course, living near Hollywood, his great voice and rugged good looks were noticed by the dream makers of Hollywood, and he acted in 27 motion pictures, including this one, his second motion picture.

After the great success of this picture, he played the part of Sergeant Renfrew of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police seven more times, and then played the part of Texas Ranger Jim Steele in 14 movies from 1942 till 1944. Mr. Newill passed in 1975, just days short of his 64th birthday.

In this adventure, U.S. counterfeiters have set up shop in a remote fishing lodge in Canada. James Newell is Sergeant Renfrew of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, roaming the wild wilderness of Canada. His mission is to discover where the counterfeiters are printing the funny-money, and how they manage to get the phony cash across the border and into the U.S.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are famous for claiming to always get their man, and this mounted policeman will get his man, or die trying. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
