Hopalong on the Warpath

As our adventure opens Hopalong Cassidy’s partners Windy and Lucky are taking the cattle herd to their winter grazing land and Windy is complaining that some of the herd seems to be missing. Soon they come across some rustlers herding some of their cattle. They shoot at the rustlers as they are escaping onto the nearby Indian reservation. One of the rustlers is an Indian, and the other two fellows promise to protect the Indian if he is caught. Windy and Lucky head to the trading post to see if they can find the rogue Indian, but they are interrupted by the arrival of the other rustlers. The head rustler and his henchmen walk boldly into the Indian trading post and confront Windy and Lucky, and they demand that they stop questioning the Indians at the trading post. Sheesh, these rustlers have guts. . . . But we haven’t seen anything yet. . . . The head rustler starts fighting with Lucky and his henchmen grab Windy. . . . And they handcuff them and tell them that they are under arrest! The outlaw rustlers are the Government Deputies in charge of protecting the Indian reservation! Reservation justice is different from normal justice, so Windy and Lucky could be put in the reservation jail for 6 months or more without even a trial or hearing. Where is Hopalong Cassidy when his buddies need him most? Hoppy does meet the deputies as they are taking his partners to jail and he rescues them, but now Hoppy and his partners are on the wrong side of Indian Reservation law, and it looks like big trouble ahead for Hopalong from Army justice. But never fear, his problems with the Army men in charge of the Indian Reservation are nothing compared to his trouble with the Indians. . . . . They will go on the warpath and capture Hopalong Cassidy, Windy and Lucky, and hold them responsible for the death of Lone Eagle. . . . And what do you think the chances are that the cattle rustling outlaw Army men from the reservation will help them out? The Indians are on the warpath and it is an awesome and mighty thing to behold. . . . Will this be the end of Hopalong Cassidy and his side-kicks. . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
