Death in Fog Hollow . . .

There have been several movies with the basic plot of a demented hunter who gets his excitement from hunting down men for sport. But I believe that this one is the first, and possibly the most terrifying.

Leslie Banks is Count Zaroff, a madman with a head wound that inhabits a remote island. After getting bored with hunting wild animals, Zaroff decides to trap and hunt humans. He sets up false buoy lights in the harbor of his remote island, and as unsuspecting ships pass between the lights, their ships crash and the survivors wash up on his shore, giving him his next victims.

Joel McCrea is a famous wild animal hunter who survived a shipwreck and is washed up on the shore of the small remote island. He discovers the Count in his island fortress, along with guests from a previous shipwreck . . . The beautiful Fay Wray as Eve Trowbridge, and her brother Martin.

Martin becomes the hunted that night, and soon Bob and Eve discover the evil Count's game - to hunt the most dangerous game - man. The next morning Bob and Eve are set loose on the island with one knife, and their wits . . . At midnight, the great hunter Count Zaroff will search for the great hunter Rainsford and the beautiful Eve.

Whichever man survives the night will take Eve as their reward. To date no one has ever survived against the mad Cossack hunter Zaroff, and now it is big game hunter Bob who will be the prey. Zaroff has told them that if he does not kill them before sunrise they may have their freedom . . . . But of course, no thinking man would trust the word of a mad monster even if they could survive till sunrise . . . Someone must die . . . Either Bob Rainsford or Count Zaroff. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
