A Frenchman's Kiss in a Dark Cinema
What do you do on a dreary, rainy afternoon? Maybe go to the cinema and watch a romantic motion picture? If you were bored, with nothing else to do but go to the cinema, you would probably arrive early, right?
As our adventure opens we watch a suave and handsome Frenchman in a cab with a beautiful lady. She is a married woman, and he is a stage actor in search of some afternoon delight on a rainy afternoon in Paris. They circle the cinema until they are sure that the movie has begun and all of the lights in the cinema are off. She is terribly afraid that her husband may discover her with the handsome actor.
In the cinema, he buys two tickets and secretly gives one to his girlfriend. She rushes into the dark cinema and goes to her seat, so that no one will see them enter together. He slowly walks behind, and hands his ticket for seat 666 to the usher, who thinks that it is ticket 999. The usher escorts the handsome actor to seat 999, that is not near his girlfriend.
In the darkened cinema, he thinks that he is sitting next to the married woman that he wants to have an affair with, but in reality, he is sitting next to the beautiful young daughter of a well-known newspaper publisher.
In the darkness of the cinema, the suave French actor turns and passionately kisses the daughter of the newspaper publisher. After she screams in surprise, the lights go on and a group of women from the Paris Purity League insist that the monster who kissed an innocent young lady be arrested and put in jail. They insist that no woman is safe in Paris as long as the phantom kisser is on the loose. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
