Punishment for the traitor . . . teach him Cricket!

If you missed the first motion picture about the legendary Scarlet Pimpernel, you can watch it here - The Scarlet Pimpernel. In that story a British Knight helps France rid itself of a terrible dictator killing his enemies with the guillotine. Now a few years later the citizen leader of the new France is using the same tactics as the corrupt government before him - killing anyone that is perceived as his enemy. There is only one man who can save France once again, the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel . . . except for one tiny detail. All the world now knows that Sir Percy Blakeney, of Brighton, England is the man who saved France so many years ago, and now that his identity is known, he can no longer travel to France without notice. Robespierre, the new dictator of France, wants the head of the Scarlet Pimpernel at all costs, and tells Chauvelin his head of police that he either brings The Scarlet Pimpernel to the gallows or die in his place. Chauvelin sets up a perfect trap for the Pimpernel by arranging to kidnap Lady Blakeley, the beloved wife of the Scarlet Pimpernel. With the help of a beautiful Spanish actress in Paris Lady Blakeley is kidnapped and spirited away to Paris where she is scheduled to die on the guillotine, and when The Scarlet Pimpernel tries to save his wife he is caught in the trap and doomed to die along with her. This may be the horrible end of the gallant savior of France . . . and the end of a proud and free France . . . or maybe not . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with a good amount of warm melted butter on it and enjoy the show.
