You Can't Kiss a Battleship
Husky Stone is a big sailor that is long on muscles and short on brains. His best friend Pete Kelly is too smart for his own good. Husky has a pretty blonde girlfriend that he is head over heels for, and he wants to quit the Navy and get married to Myrtle Montrose. Pete wants Husky to stay in the Navy with him and forget about women, but Husky tells Pete that you can't kiss a battleship . . . he wants to marry Myrtle. His best buddy Pete (Wallace Ford) decides that he will do whatever he can to break up the romance between Husky and Myrtle so that Husky will sign up for another four year hitch in the Navy instead of marrying Myrtle. Once Pete gets a look at Myrtle, a beautiful blonde, he decides to chase after her himself so that she will forget about Husky. Of course things go wrong . . . Myrtle just wants to get married, and it doesn't matter to her if it is Husky or Pete, so Myrtle traps Pete into getting engaged . . . now Pete is in trouble because as a career Navy man he doesn't want to get tied down to one gal. This is a light-hearted comedy about Navy men and their shore-leave girls . . . no deep mystery or murder or drama here . . . just a lot of madcap Navy fun with beautiful girls mixed in. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter on it and enjoy an hour of Navy fun.
