Famous Female Flyer Found on the Highest Peak in the High Sierras

In November of 1929 there were 117 women with an airplane pilots license, and famous female airplane pilot Amelia Earhart, who was the first female airplane pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, invited them all to a meeting on Long Island, New York. Only 99 of the 117 women pilots attended that meeting, and they created an organization that continues today called ‘The Ninety-Nines,’ a group that is still active today promoting women pilots: Visit the 99’s website: Ninety-Nines.org —»

Amelia Earhart was hired by Purdue University in 1935 to promote flying for the female students, and in 1937 the university sponsored her attempt to become the first woman pilot to circle the world, and somewhere over the central Pacific Ocean Amelia Earhart and her Lockheed Model 10 Electra disappeared, never to be found.

In 1939, with the mystery of her disappearance still fresh on the minds of the world, and the search for her still continuing, this movie was produced about a sassy female flyer who wants to attempt an around the world flight. Mixed into the story are airplane thieves and a special experimental airplane that can land on a dime.

The Army wants this revolutionary airplane, and it is worth more than a million dollars to a gang of airplane thieves. It will take the unwitting efforts of our female pilot and the calculating risk of man she loves to go missing just like Amelia Earhart. They will not crash and go missing in the Pacific Ocean like Amelia Earhart, but rather on the highest peak in the High Sierras, with the world searching in vain for them. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
