This movie features legendary John Wayne at the height of his motion picture career. He is every woman's hero and every man's role-model as John Clayborn, fast shooting lawyer bent on revenge for the murder of his parents when he was a youngster. Wealthy Alexander Stiles, played by Cy Kendall, has both lawyers and gunfighters at his beck and call, and he means to own a million acres of the Pecos area, along with all of the water rights. Unfortunately for our wealthy bad guy, homesteaders Ma and Pa Clayborn and little John own the water rights and land around Sweetwater, the best water between Texas and Kansas. When the Clayborns refuse to sell out to bad guy Stiles he kills them and takes over the land anyway. But young John escapes death and heads for the home of a relative across the state and ten years later is big John Clayborn, who has learned both the finest points of the law, and how to shoot faster and more accurately than anyone in the Pecos River area. John returns to the Pecos River area to get his revenge on Stiles, and when he beats Stiles in court, Stiles unleashes his henchmen on John and the local ranchers, with the intentions of killing them all. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter on it and find out if big John Wayne and the local ranchers are up to the challenge of King of the Pecos Alexander Stiles and his hired guns.
