Go Jump in the Lake

I have been blessed with a lot of 'highs' in my life, and I've also experienced a lot of 'lows' . . . I hesitate to remember and chronicle them because I fear that the bad times may have outnumbered the good times. But through all the good days and all the bad days . . . I never thought about ending it all . . . I always managed to imagine and work for a better day ahead. Early in this motion picture that deftly examines the personalities of the characters, pretty young Anne, played by Claire Windsor, not only thinks about jumping to her death in the local lake, but actually almost succeeds, but is saved from a certain drowning death by a young reporter writing his first novel. They soon get married, but the marriage seems doomed from the beginning thanks to Anne's rogue brothers and jealousy between Anne's new husband and Anne's boss. The author of this story shows us the personalities of characters that we will all recognize. As I watched these characters I could imagine people that I know today that are just like some of the characters in this drama about life in the U.S. in 1932. Just as in real life, not everyone will survive to try again another day. Truly, when you watch the personalities of the 1932 characters you will realize that the more we change, the more we stay the same. Will you discover one of the characters is a lot like yourself? Will you discover that you have a friend just like one of these characters? Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter on it and enjoy the show.
