Who's Chasing Who?

As our cops and robbers action adventure opens jewel thief Lavelle is hiding a stolen string of pearls inside the hollow heel of a shoe, and placing the shoes inside a trunk. Watching from the window is a beautiful blonde girl with a gun on the jewel thief. The blonde holds her gun on the jewel thief and demands the pearls in the heel of the shoe, but before anything can happen the cops are at the door and window and in the shoot-out that entails jewel thief Lavelle escapes the cops, and as the cops are chasing after Lavelle the blonde girl also escapes. Now the pearls are still in the shoes inside the trunk and the cops confiscate the trunk and everything else in the room. Fast forward and we meet acrobat actor Richard Talmadge on his way to a police auction where the trunk will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The blonde gal is there with her eye on the trunk, along with two burly henchmen, but when the bidding is about to end, a new bidder enters the picture . . . an older gentleman who gets the trunk and has it delivered to his home. The blonde and the two henchmen make a note of the address and both plan on breaking into the house to get the pearls. Now here is the scuttlebutt - the pearls were stolen from the wife of the police commissioner, and she is trying to get the pearls back before her husband the Police Commissioner finds out. Richard Talmadge, as Police Detective Dick Manning, promises to not only catch jewel thief Lavelle, but also return the pearls to the Commissioner's wife without his boss and her husband, Police Commissioner Hartley from finding out. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter on it and enjoy the show.
