All Hat and No Cattle . . .

As our adventure opens we meet four of the meanest outlaws of the West . . . Rancher Lynch and his three henchmen. The rancher instructs his henchmen to ambush and kill rancher Dawson, who will be riding by any minute. After shooting rancher Dawson, Lynch, his half-brother, is ready for the next part of his dastardly plan. Now that Dawson is dead, Lynch can present his phony will and claim that he will inherit the Dawson ranch and all the cattle, leaving nothing for Dawson’s two daughters, beautiful Betty and her young ten year old sister Sugar. After the reading of the will Lynch orders Betty and little Sugar to get off his ranch and get out of town . . . . . Here is where the story gets mighty interesting, and different from the typical cowboy story. When bad guy Lynch orders Betty and her little sister off of their ranch, beautiful and helpless Betty turns to him and declares that she will not leave the ranch even though he now owns it . . . . . This might seem like a very dangerous thing to say to the men who just killed your father, but she gets away with it . . . Several times the bad guy and his henchmen tell Betty to get off the ranch, but she just ignores them like they were flies buzzing around on a hot day . . . . A bit of a nuisance, but not a dangerous threat . . . . These bad guys seem to be all talk and no real action . . . . Until two strangers appear . . . . The henchmen find Tom Sterling and his Mexican side-kick riding down the Sunset Trail towards the Dawson ranch and they order them at gunpoint to turn around or be killed. This leads to that and the two strangers have taken the henchmen’s guns and the ride on, laughing at the inept henchmen . . . . . Sheesh . . . . These bad guys get no respect . . . . They look tough . . . . . They have big black hats and smoking guns . . . . But the strangers and the little ladies don’t seem to take them seriously . . . . . Sure the bad guys will keep trying, but the fun part of this adventure is not the danger that the bad guys bring to the story, but rather the way the good guys handle the danger with a smile and a swat . . . . Like brushing away that pesky fly buzzing around your head . . . . These bad guys are 'all hat and no cattle' . . . Making for a fun hour of shooting, fighting and cow poking with the little ladies. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
