The Man with a Briefcase and the Blonde Bombshell

Dick Powell is insurance investigator Johnny Forbes, and his life is terribly boring. He carries his little briefcase to the office every morning and returns home to his wife Sue, played by Jane Wyatt every evening at the same time. They play cards with Johnny's boss and his wife every Tuesday . . . . Life for Johnny Forbes is dull and boring . . . . Johnny has a cute wife, a great little boy, a house in the suburbs, everything a man could want . . . . Except for a little excitement . . . . Maybe a little adventure.

Johnny didn't know it, but before this day ends his world will turn upside down . . . . His family will be threatened . . . . His life will be in danger . . . . Murder will be in his future . . . He may lose not only his family but his life . . . . All because of a sultry blonde beauty who is a dress model for the May Company in Los Angeles.

When Johnny gets to the office this morning he is greeted by private eye MacDonald, played by Raymond Burr. A fellow who was bonded by the insurance company stole a lot of money and spent it on gifts for the blonde beauty and private eye Mac has found the girl and started to recover some of the money for the insurance company. When Johnny visits the girl to document and recover more of the gifts she got from the stolen money Johnny and Mona hit it off, and Johnny's life gets very exciting very quickly.

Unfortunately private eye Mac also has a thing for Mona, in fact he has more than an attraction to her . . . . He becomes a demented stalker who will have Mona at any cost . . . . And now Johnny is standing between him and the girl he is stalking. Johnny is not bored any more. . . . Johnny suddenly realizes how valuable his family is . . . . But it may be too late . . . . . Johnny is caught in a web of danger that will engulf him and take him to the edge of destruction . . . . Johnny isn't the father who knows best, and it doesn't take a Perry Mason to discover that one! (sorry, I just couldn't resist). Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
