You Killed Me . . . . Now it is My Turn

In 1948 Broadmoor Hospital, in Berkshire, England, held the most dangerous criminally insane men and women in a very high security atmosphere. As I write this in 2015 it is still the most famous of three hospital-insane-asylums in England. As our story opens we watch a burglar shining his torch around the library of a wealthy London home searching for the safe. A servant girl opens the door and enters . . . The burglar fires his gun and kills the servant girl who interrupted him. He and his partner are captured. His partner in crime is put to death and he is imprisoned in Broadmoor. Ten years later the man escapes from Broadmoor and is on the loose in London. Scotland Yard is on the search for him, but cannot find him. Roger Trent is the man who owned the home that was being burgled ten years earlier and whose servant girl was brutally murdered. Trent is afraid that the killer will return, and the killer is indeed planning to return to the home and steal the jewels that he tried to get ten years earlier. Scotland Yard Inspector John Thornton doesn’t believe that the escaped killer will return to the scene of the crime, but he does post a man outside the home to keep watch. Tonight the housekeeper and servants are all gone for the evening, and to ease Trent’s fears, Inspector Thornton has come to take Trent out for the evening. As Trent waits for the Inspector, he hears creaking boards in the house, and when he walks into the entrance hall he thinks that a shadow passes at the top of the stairway. The phone rings, and when he answers it there is no one on the other end. Outside the escaped killer and his new accomplice are indeed watching and waiting. Then the Inspector arrives and Trent locks the house and heads to the club. The escaped killer and his new henchman enter the dark house and go to the library to crack open the safe and take the jewels that the killer didn’t get the first time. . . . . . Suddenly . . . . . SHE enters the room. . . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
