In Search of The Whip

Ray 'Crash' Corrigan and Max Terhune with his dummy made 24 Three Mesquiteers western movies for Republic movie studios, but when they wanted more money and Republic refused, they left and convinced George W. Weeks to help them produce their own cowboy movies at Corrigan's Simi Valley ranch, and The Range Busters was born. Corrigan's ranch later became a western tourist park called the Corriganville Movie Ranch, but where is it today? . . . In 1965 the ranch was sold to a comedian named Bob Hope and a housing development named Hopetown was built on much of the land. This Range Buster adventure opens with the capture and arrest of Crash Corrigan as an outlaw, leaving longtime fans puzzling over his turn to the dark side. Ahhh . . . but soon we can figure out that Crash and Dusty are only pretending to be outlaws to infiltrate the gang in Fugitive Valley, home to the infamous outlaw The Whip. Once inside the outlaw haven Crash and Dusty discover a cute young blonde girl and both of them seem more interested in her than the outlaws . . . sigh . . . men are all alike . . . . Thank Heaven :~) . . . Anyway . . . the whip turns out to be . . . . wait . . . . I'm not going to tell you that . . . . it may be one person, or it may not be . . . well, actually I will tell you that it is definitely one mysterious person who will be revealed to you in good time. It turns out that the Whip controls a small band of outlaws within the larger band of outlaws and is robbing the outlaws after they rob the stage coaches . . . . Pretty Sneaky! Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
