Grown-Ups Give Me a Pain!

Young Kip Adams is walking the streets of Los Angeles on his way home from school when a little dog almost gets run over by a car in the heavy traffic. A policeman picks up the dog and when the cop sees little Kip on the sidewalk watching and thinks that the dog must belong to the boy. Kip tries to tell the policeman that the puppy isn’t his, but the policeman puts the puppy in Kip’s arms and orders him to keep the dog off of the street. Kip tries to shoo the dog away, but it follows him and little boys being what they are, Kip decides to hide the dog and take him to the basement apartment that he lives in with his Grandfather. Gramps is the doorman and janitor for the tall apartment building and he lives in a small basement apartment with his grandson Kip.

Kip has hidden the puppy in a cardboard box and is about to smuggle the dog into his basement apartment when he meets Gwen, a little girl moving into the building with her parents. Gwen, who likes to be called ‘Button’ because she is cute as a button, discovers that Kip has a dog, and she insists that she should have half of the dog. Since the apartment does not allow dogs, Kip and Button need to hide the puppy from the grownups, and this turns out to be more difficult than they thought. Kip and Button think that they have found the perfect hiding place for their dog and hide him in the empty apartment of a lady who has gone out of town for a while. This seems to be the perfect hiding place for the stray dog until two burglars break into the empty apartment while Lucky was sleeping on the couch. The adventure of a boy and a girl and their dog may end very badly this night . . . Or maybe the adventure has just begun. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
