Fathers, Warn Your Sons

There were several ‘Mothers, warn your daughters’ exploitation movies from the 1930’s and 1940’s, and while you may think that this is just a jungle adventure to entertain young boys of any age, let me tell you differently.

Guys, beware . . . . If you have a girlfriend . . . A girl that you intend to make your own one day . . . Beware the dangers of taking her on an adventure trip with you and your buddy. Yes, many of the idle rich have always spent their time and money exploring unknown frontiers for a bit of excitement, but Bruce and Andy just went too far.

Bruce and Andy decided to go on safari in Africa, searching for the lost city of the dead. It would be a great adventure into the unknown that would provide them with stories for their grandchildren . . . But then Bruce made a fatal mistake.

His fiancĂ© Betty, also a rich girl with nothing to do, decided that she wanted to go along on this ‘guy trip’ . . . . And Bruce did not have enough common sense to keep her from going with them. In fact he even encouraged her to go along. Big mistake, fellows . . . . Very big mistake. . . . Watch and learn.

You see, living in the deepest part of the wild jungle is a medical research doctor with six-pack abs and a smile that would melt the moon. Buster Crabbe, Olympic swimming champion, plays the part of Junga, the jungle man searching for a serum that will cure Malaka fever, and when rich girl Betty sets her eyes on the hunk of a man Junga, Bruce might as well just go back home and forget about any future life with Betty.

Indeed it would have been better for Bruce if he had gone back home, because his fate will not be a good one. As for Betty and jungle man Buster Crabbe . . . . . Well, they will be just fine, thank you very much. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the adventure.
