The Crook with Ambition . . . And the Femme Fatale

Today we travel the untamed region of the Mediterranean Sea . . . From mysterious Tangier to the wild Spanish coast . . . We are watching a master smuggler trying to complete his biggest deal . . . The deal that will allow him to retire with barrels of cash and lead an honest life. Mike Alexander owns a boat called the Black Jack, and for the right amount of money his boat is for hire to anyone in need, whether it is legal or not. Like many stories about crooks and bad guys, most of our characters are crooks and liars, and not what they seem to be. This is the biggest fun during the adventure . . . Just about the time you figure out who is a good guy and who is a bad guy . . . The lies are revealed and everything is topsy-turvy as the adventure turns in a wild new direction. George Sanders, playing the part of smuggler Mike Alexander is the bad guy . . . but of course in this adventure he is the good guy . . . well . . . at least he is the best of the bad guys . . . awww, it's really difficult to divide a cast of crooks, liars and adventurers into good and bad . . . I guess that technically the person who turns out to be an International Cop would be considered the good guy, but we will all be cheering for the suave smuggler as he heads towards his biggest haul . . . and the rest of the characters who will all be trying to get his contraband goods even if they need to kill him to do it. Besides the owner of the Black Jack who is after his biggest and final deal, there is Patricia Roc, the femme fatale who will unwittingly bring everything crashing down around the smuggler as he heads to the rendezvous that he thought no one else knew about. We also meet the unscrupulous ship captain Nikarescu, a man without any morals who would kill a ship full of refugees to earn a quick dollar . . . And then there is the amazing radio, television and motion picture actress Agnes Morehead . . . The lady that can freeze water with only a glance . . . As quirky millionaire Emily Birk, she will lie her way into the middle of this smuggling adventure. Herbert Marshall also appears in the story as a medical doctor seeking funds for his research from the lady millionaire. The countdown is on as the ship bearing a fortune in a white powdery drug hits the harbor and all of our characters will be trying to get the smuggled cargo. Will suave smuggler Mike get the rewards of his biggest deal and retire to an honest life? Will one of the other characters get the goods instead? Some of the characters will not survive the day . . . Which ones? . . . . It will be as the ancient Greeks said . . . so . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and learn what the ancient Greeks said.
