The Demented Killer and the Blonde Beauties

The Navy Cross was awarded to World War Two combat pilot Adam Williams in 1944 for extraordinary heroism in battle. After the war, when he wasn’t making movies, he worked for the FAA as a flight instructor and examiner for new pilots. There is an iconic movie scene in a famous Alfred Hitchcock movie featuring Cary Grant running frantically on a lonely rural road being chased by an airplane. The pilot of that airplane was Adam Williams.

He not only flew the airplane in that iconic scene but was one of the memorable bad-guys in the adventure. Adam became type-cast as a menacing criminal in movies because of his amazing performance in this killer thriller. A psychopathic deranged killer is hunting down and murdering young blonde women during the first week of every month. The cops are on his trail, but the killer is smart enough to keep the cops from getting any substantial leads.

In one scene of this thriller, the killer convinces a blonde undercover policewoman to take a ride with him into the lonely hills surrounding Los Angeles. This blonde actress is Marilee Phelps, Adam Williams’ real-life wife. Fortunately, she does not become his next victim, but the tension continues to build as the first week of the month approaches once more. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
