The Suspicious Man and the Lady who was Pretty Enough To Die For
Angela Lansbury was one of the rare actors who was nominated for an Academy Award for her very first film performance, and a second time for her third film performance. She has become a star of Broadway, Hollywood motion pictures, and Television, another rare feat.
In her twelve years as amateur detective Jessica Fletcher on a hit television show she solved a murder every week that would baffle the police, the suspects and us, the audience, with flair and wit that only she could provide.
In this murder thriller she is the young wife of an older millionaire. A young homebuilder who has gone bankrupt has caught her eye, and she convinces her wealthy husband to finance the young man so that he can build homes that Angela Lansbury will sell. Unfortunately, there is a catch, . . . . . Isn’t there always?
The suspicious young builder soon believes that the older millionaire and his young wife are trying to kill him. He has no real evidence, just his suspicious mind and imagination, possibly working on overtime.
This leads to that and the young man decides that he has only nine days to live. He is convinced that before nine days have passed, he will be murdered, but he doesn’t know for sure how it will be done, and indeed, has no real evidence that his suspicions are correct.
Nine days to live, Nine days to die, . . . . If only amateur detective Jessica Fletcher were there to help him put all the clues together, he might be able to survive. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
