Cold War Spies and Loonies

British actor Derek Farr is a man driving on a lonely country road outside London when he sees a man lying in the middle of the road. Of course he stops and gets out of his car to investigate, and as he is kneeling over the lifeless figure in the road he is hit on the head and knocked unconscious. He is stripped of his clothing and dressed with other clothes, wallet and passport. His car is set ablaze and he is carried to another car and driven away. When he awakes he is in a nearby private hospital that cares for mentally insane patients. He is confused, dazed and in terrible head pain, and the kindly doctor who runs the insane asylum convinces him that he is Ivan Mason, an accountant with a passport and a visa to visit Russia in two weeks. The man is confused and disoriented, but he is convinced that Ivan Mason is not his name. As his recovery continues in the private hospital the head doctor travels to London and brings his landlady to his room to confirm that he is accountant Ivan Mason. The doctor later takes him to London where he meets his employer who also confirms that he is Ivan Mason, and is looking forward to visiting his elderly mother in Russia soon. Our confused patient is beginning to believe that he might be Ivan Mason . . . . But something in the back of his head still questions why he isn't familiar with any of the people or places that he is supposed to know. . . . To confuse him even more, one of the other patients in the mental hospital asks him to secretly meet him in a nearby pub to hear an amazing story . . . . When our man called Ivan meets the other patient, the fellow tells him that he is a doctor who likes booze more than being a doctor and he was paid by the folks at the mental hospital to help turn our man into Ivan Mason, complete with a new rose tattoo on his arm. Now our hero is more confused than ever . . . . Thank goodness there is a sexy nurse in the mental hospital who will help distract him, and later the lovely daughter of the American Ambassador in London who believes in him and will help him try to discover his real identity before he is forced to travel to Russia. . . . Unfortunately, instead of helping him discover his identity she will become trapped with him in a devious cold war spy plot that may doom them both. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
