The Teenage Boy, the Hot Rod Honey, and the Mountain Girl

There are two girls in this crime adventure, both just twenty-one years old. Joan Evans gets top billing in the movie. Her parents were authors and screenwriters for movies and later television shows, and they named their baby girl ‘Joan,’ after her Godmother, Joan Crawford. When Joan Evans was seventeen, with three movies to her credits, she told her parents that she was going to marry a car salesman named Kirby Weatherly.

Her parents told her to talk to Joan Crawford, hoping that Joan Crawford would talk her Goddaughter out of the marriage. To her parents’ surprise, Joan Crawford helped the young couple get married in her home, without telling her parents. The marriage was a good one, lasting until his death, but the friendship between Joan Crawford and the young bride’s parents was ended forever.

The second girl in this story is Marla English. Marla had increasing success in movies until she fell in love with an actor on the Paramount lot. She married the actor when she was twenty-one years old, not long after making this movie, and never acted again.

In this story Marla English is the sexy girl who will kiss every man she meets, never giving any real loyalty to anyone but herself. She will use every man she meets to make sure that she gets all of the holdup money, and when she has it, she will be done with the men. Yes, Marla English, as gangster girl Lynn Novak, will kiss the boys and watch them die. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
