The Buxom Blonde Alibi

So you are the ruggedly handsome editor of a London publication and your wife is a beautiful piece of arm-candy that any man would give his soul to be next to . . . But it is the curse of many handsome men to fall victim to the disease of chasing the girl he doesn't have, and Paul Pearson, played by Patrick Holt, has chased and won the affections of blonde beauty Diana, played by Naomi Chance. For three years he pretends to play poker with his good war-buddy, but actually zips over to Diana's place to play bedroom games with her. It's a good gig if you can get it . . . and it's even a better deal if you can survive without the world discovering your deceit . . . and if you can keep it from your lovely wife Lynn, played by Honor Blackman, all the better. Ahhh . . . but we know this wouldn't be a movie worth your admission fee if all went well . . . and soon the fly-paper will hit the fan and Paul's world will come crashing down around him. During a tryst with the blonde babe Paul tells her that he thinks they should stop seeing each other, and makes Diana promise never to breathe a word of their relationship to anyone . . . not even the cops . . . but that said, he then spends the next several hours with Diana saying 'good-bye' - what a gentleman! Unfortunately, while he is diddling with Diana, his buddy . . . his alibi . . . gets killed . . . and at the end of the evening with Diana Paul goes home fat and happy and clueless as to what is about to happen. When his buddy dies from the knife wound . . . a knife that Paul gave him earlier in the evening to open a stubborn bottle of Gin with . . . Paul is the first and only suspect . . . He has built up a rock-solid alibi with the world that proves he spent the evening with his buddy! But you say, wait a minute . . . The blonde babe can tell the truth and get him out of trouble with the cops . . . albeit he may be in even worse trouble with his wife . . . But a man's got to do what a man's got to do . . . So while he is cooling his heels in the jail awaiting trial, the crime reporter from the newspaper has his permission to visit the blonde babe and impress on her the importance of telling the truth . . . It may end Paul's marriage, but it will save his life. Crime reporter Sandy Thorpe, played by Andrew Keir, heads over to the blonde's apartment and the scene changes to her apartment as there is a knock at her door . . . Diana opens the door and . . . well . . . this is as far as I go, because you've just got to see this for yourself . . . I'm not going to give it away . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
