Spies and Lovers
An elderly scientist escapes a Soviet laboratory for the west with a secret formula. His young daughter is a librarian who managed the reading room for blind patrons, and the scientist goes to her when his contact with British Intelligence cannot reach him in time. The scientist almost gives his daughter the secret formula to hold for him, but they are disrupted before he can give it to her. His daughter Helen goes to the head of the library to ask for the day off while her scientist father waits for her in the reading room with blind patrons. There are eight blind people reading in the room, and a ninth man who is only pretending to be blind. He is an enemy agent planted there to watch for the return of the girl's father, and when he sees the man sitting there waiting for his daughter, he silently kills him with a knife, and searches his body for the secret formula. Alas, the secret formula is not on him . . . it seems that the suspicious man placed the envelope somewhere around the library, and now both the suave British Intelligence Officer Allan Peters and the Soviet spies are looking for the formula . . . danger and death face Helen because they believe that she has the missing papers. Handsome British spy Allan will help her find the missing papers before the enemy agents, and then shoot it out in the dark library as they try to kill Helen and Allan. If you enjoy spy vs spy in a battle to the death, pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with warm melted butter on it and enjoy the show.
