Love for Sale . . . With Murder on the Side

How do unemployed actors in 1960 London make enough money to survive until their big break comes? Your first answer would be that they wait tables in a nice restaurant . . . But what red-blooded Brit unemployed male actor wouldn't jump at the chance to be a paid escort to wealthy women . . . Wealthy beautiful women . . . Okay . . . Waiting tables is out, and dancing with pretty women for profit it is. Buzz and Steve sign up and both get selected very quickly. Buzz is hired by a very near-sighted beauty who wants to jump his bones before even being introduced . . . Buzz is man enough to handle Nadia like any good Brit unemployed male actor would. Steve gets a crush for Terry Kennedy, the owner of the escort bureau, but he is also selected by a wealthy lady . . . Blonde heiress Elizabeth . . . But something strange is going on with his deal . . . Before Steve arrives at Elizabeth's place to escort her to a party, we see Elizabeth talking on her telephone to someone and saying that everything will work out perfectly because Steve, her escort, has no idea of what is really going on . . . . Hmmm . . . . This might get interesting . . . Elizabeth and a mysterious voice on the other end of the telephone have plans for Steve . . . . What could they be? Poor Steve wants to earn his money by escorting Elizabeth around town, but he also is falling in love with Terry the escort bureau owner . . . And when Elizabeth starts buying up all of Steve's spare time the escort bureau owner gets very jealous and angry at Steve . . . This isn't good for their budding romance . . . and there is something still fishy about Elizabeth and her dates with Steve, until one evening when Steve calls on Elizabeth for their date. Elizabeth isn't dressed yet so Steve waits in her living room while she goes back into her bedroom to get ready . . . Time passes and Steve starts to get worried about getting to the theatre on time and when he calls out to Elizabeth he only hears silence from her bedroom . . . Steve slowly walks over to the bedroom door to see if Elizabeth is still getting ready for their evening out and . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
