The End of Mankind . . .

A magnetic storm surrounding the military base on Mars prevents them from observing the giant meteor from another galaxy heading straight for the Earth. Only Professor Benson, played by Claude Rains, knows that the total destruction of the Earth is only hours away. As the meteor quickly approaches the Earth something very strange happens . . . Not only does the meteor miss the Earth, but it enters an orbit around the earth . . . suddenly the Earth has two moons. Only Professor Benson understands what this means . . . The whole of the Earth Space Command is clueless . . . But Professor Benson understands . . . He calls the rogue meteor The Outsider . . . He believes that the huge meteor is actually a life-raft from space . . . a gigantic space ship carrying beings from a dying universe. His fears are confirmed when the Earth Space Command sends a rocket ship to explore the giant meteor, and as the rocket ship approaches a dozen or so flying saucers appear from behind the meteor and quickly aim destructive beams at the Earth Rocket until it explodes into a billion tiny pieces. The Earth military command is now helpless against the flying saucers until Professor Benson saves the day when he determines that music . . . very high frequency radio transmissions, can destroy the flying saucers that come from the meteor. With the protective flying saucers destroyed, Earth can now send atomic rockets to the huge meteor to blow it up, but the Professor wants to visit the meteor and find the aliens and tap into their scientific secrets. Professor Benson leads a rocket ship to the meteor on a mission of discovery . . . A quest to learn the secret knowledge that will propel the Earth into a vast new future . . . but he only has three hours inside the belly of the meteor to find the alien life forms and their storehouse of knowledge . . . the time is quickly up and everyone is ordered back to the rocket ship to blast off before the atomic rockets fly into the meteor to destroy it . . . Professor Benson refuses to go back to the rocket ship and continues into the belly of the beast until he finds the electronic brain that contains the secrets of the universe . . . Earth Command sends the atomic rockets blasting towards the meteor just as the Professor learns the truth of the universe, and the Professor seems to be destined for death just as he learns secrets that the world so badly needs . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
