Eight Exotic Dancers, One Man, and Giant Atomic Murdering Spiders
In the mid 1980's I was the General Manager for a Denny's restaurant on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio, and at the same time worked three evenings a week at a small smoke shop/gift shop in the Great Northern shopping mall. Along with the tobacco goods the store sold a blend of unique gift items not generally available in other stores.
During my years at the tobacco and gift store I purchased several expensive, unique and beautiful beer steins with the stamp of West Germany on the bottom. My final purchase was of a beautiful large stein commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall in November of 1989, with a small chunk of that infamous wall embedded in the pewter lid. It was one of the final beer steins created in the nation of ‘West Germany,’ just before they united again to become one nation. West Germany only existed from the end of WWII until 1989, and this movie was filmed by a West German movie company that filmed most of the footage in Croatia.
In this adventure, that was probably shown on drive-in theater screens to cars full of teenage boys and girls, a handful of nightclub exotic dancers are headed for a dancing job in Singapore. Unfortunately, the airplane carrying the dancers and their manager crashes in the ocean near a tropical island inhabited by one dead professor and creepy, crawly atomic murdering spiders. Seven barely clad dancers against killer spiders, . . . what are the odds? Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
