Women with Weapons vs. Men with no Shirts

From the mid 1950's through the mid 1960's all the rage in Italian motion pictures was a genre of film that came to be called 'Sword and Sandal' movies, or Peplum, which is an Italian word for toga. The plot was usually a comic-book like story about the gladiators of history with big strong, bare-chested muscle men and pretty girls in sexy togas . . . sometimes the girls were pretty tough girls like in this adventure of women battling women to the death. As our adventure begins we watch a land where women dominate their men . . . no . . . not like today, when our women allow us to think that we are the boss . . . these girls enslave the men, who are the workers for their society. Rebel women are trained to be gladiator fighters killing each other in epic fights to the death. An unknown blonde goddess informs the black queen of the Amazons that one day a man will come who will destroy her Queendom . . . a strong man named Thor. Fortunately Thor has a black buddy Ubaratutu with muscles just as power as Thor, and the black queen will fall head over heels for him. After we watch several of the Amazon girls fight each other we watch the battle of titans - Thor, played by Joe Robinson, and Ubaratutu, played by Harry Biard. The movie effects are not as spectacular as the comic book style hero stories today, but the plot is pretty good, the two strong men are he-man hunks for the girls to enjoy, and the girls are pretty enough to keep the guys watching every frame. There is even a sub-plot with a young teen boy and girl who meet and form a lifelong friendship. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter on it and grab your flip-flops . . . . er . . . sandals and get ready for a battle of superior women against the men, and the odds look pretty even.
