Celebration of Violence

In 1966 while us Yankees were engrossed with Batman and large cartoon balloons proclaiming 'Bang' . . . 'Kaboom' . . . and 'Pow' . . . in Italy they were producing cowboy westerns that had no scenes of cowhands strumming a guitar and singing under a western moon . . . The bag guys were really bad . . . and the good guys were even badder . . . Outlaw Gordo is the leader of the Sidewinder bandits. When Gordo was a young boy he always wanted his father's musical watch, and when Papa told him that it would be his when Papa died . . . five seconds later it was his. Gordo and his gang decide to rob the bank at Blackstone Hills while the men folk are all out of town selling their cattle. Stranger Arizona Colt is the good guy, and he is fast with his gun, and a better card cheat than anyone in town. When Gordo's henchman Clay goes into town to scout things out he spends the night with saloon girl Dolores, and when she discovers that he is one of the Sidewinders he kills her. Good guy Arizona Colt offers to find Clay and bring him back dead or alive for three thousand dollars, but her bartender papa can only come up with five hundred dollars. So Arizona Colt makes a deal with him for five hundred dollars . . . plus his other daughter Jane. Papa is surprised and asks Arizona if he intends to marry Jane and good guy Arizona says, "Not exactly, but something like that" . . . Roy Rogers would roll over in his grave . . . This cowboy western is not for the kiddies . . . sure, most of the adult innuendos would go right over their heads, but this is a story for big boys and girls who love adventures of brawn, beauty, and the toughest hombres to ever fill a movie screen. The bullets fly fast and the bodies pile up very quickly as the Man from Nowhere rides across the screen giving gangster Gordo more than he can handle. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
