Treachery in the Mexican Desert

Four souls deep in the scorching hot desert with very little water . . . and at least one of them is a cold-blooded killer. Pernell Roberts is U.S. Marshal Ross, on the hunt for Fernando, part of a gang that robbed a bank and killed a teller. Marshal Ross wants to bring Fernando back to stand trial . . . maybe he is just a bank robber, or maybe he is the killer of the bank teller. Fernando has a girlfriend . . . beautiful blonde Myra, played by Sue Lyon, best remembered as 'Lolita' from the movie of the same name. Myra follows Marshal Ross into the desert in search of Fernando, along with 'Mr. Brown' . . . now, Mr. Brown, played by Leslie Nielsen, seems to be a Pinkerton detective also on the trail of bank robber Fernando . . . or is he? The three soon discover Fernando, but this leads to that and when the four of them get together bank robber Fernando is shot and badly wounded by Mr. Brown . . . and Myra has been raped by Mr. Brown . . . Now Marshal Ross has a big problem on his hands. He must try to get Myra, Fernando and Mr. Brown back to Texas and the justice of the court, but the hot desert sun will make their journey deadly. Four horses become three . . . then two . . . then one . . . then none, as we finally have three men and a young girl walking through the hot Mexican desert without any water. For most of the trip Marshal Ross has kept the two men and Myra from killing each other, but that record may not last. Soon we wonder if any of the four will escape the blast-furnace justice of the blazing desert sun. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter on it and enjoy the show.
