Racing the Sun . . . or . . . No Greater Love

The best cowboy and Indian movies were made with the goal of energizing the imaginations of young boys and girls . . . Sure, the stories were exciting to Mom and Dad as well, but the wide eyes of youngsters as a good cowboy and Indian drama unfolds are a thing of beauty. As our story opens an Indian Brave from a little-known and very strange tribe is watching the Sutter homestead, and the young boy and girl left alone in the house are attacked by three braves from the tribe of the Crooked Sky and young daughter Charlotte is taken away by the strange Indians with the golden headband. Her brother Sam feels responsible for her abduction and he mounts his horse and goes in search of the strange Indian tribe with the golden headband that shows a crooked sky. With the help of an old drunk trapper and a crazy old Indian who had his tongue cut out the brother journeys to a strange land no one has ever entered before and discovers the tribe of the crooked sky, and his abducted sister Charlotte. It turns out that the crazy old Indian with his tongue cut out was the Chief of this strange tribe, and the current Chief is the evil man who cut out the old Chief's tongue and took over the tribe. When night falls the evil Chief plunges a knife deep into the chest of the old cut tongue Chief, and when Sam's sister Charlotte sees this she rushes over and pulls the knife out of the old cut-tongue Chief and tries to save him. The evil Chief then grabs Charlotte and tells the tribe that it was she who killed the old Chief, and she must die. Young brother Sam wants to die in her place, and the evil Chief declares that if the boy can race the sun and get to the crooked sky rock before the sun goes down, she will be saved, but if he fails, they will both die. Brother Sam and Sister Charlotte both offer to die in the other's place . . . One person will certainly die . . . One will die to save another . . . someone must die Against the Crooked Sky . . . but who? Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
