The Dame-Daffy Champion Chip off the Old Block-Head

Pete Palooka is the roughest toughest fighter in the country and he is married to Burlesque Queen Mayme. Unfortunately, after every fight Pete Palooka hits the Paradise Club with a young floozy blonde while his wife is home with their little son Joe. One night after a big fight Mayme heads to the Paradise club and finds her husband enjoying the evening with the blonde party girl on his lap.

Mayme slugs the blonde girl and knocks her out cold, and then tells Pete that she is leaving him and taking their son Joe with her. Fast forward twenty years and we discover that Pete Palooka is roaming the South Pacific with his blonde floozy and Mayme is living the simple life on a farm with her now-grown son Joe.

While taking the eggs to market one day, Joe stops to help a man who is being punched by another fellow. Joe swings at the big brute and knocks him out cold. It turns out that the big brute is prize fighting champion Dynamite Riley, and the skinny fellow that Joe saved was the fighter’s manager.

Well, it isn’t long before Joe heads to the big city to fight like his papa . . . And maybe if he wins, he will party like his papa with a gold-digging floozy, preferring booze and broads when he isn’t in the ring, just like his papa. Of course, this will break his mother’s heart, to see her son following in her husband’s wild lifestyle.

This leads to that and Joe is set up for a big return match with the champ that he accidentally knocked out, and Joe is sure to lose this fight badly. Half the people put their betting money on Joe Palooka, and half the people put their money on the champ . . . Me? I put my money on the toughest one . . . Mama. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
