The Lady-Killer, and the Lady

Larry Loves Vicki . . . . Larry wants to marry Vicki in a couple of months. Nothing unusual about that in any time and any town, but this one gets complicated . . . By Murder.

You see, Larry was married to Norma, but after being separated for a year with a divorce on the way, Norma disappeared. It is now almost seven years later, and Norma can be declared dead and Larry will be free to marry Vicki. Except for one little detail.

As our adventure opens, Vicki answers her apartment door and meets Larry’s long lost wife Norma, who is very alive, and who promises Vicki that she will not divorce Larry and Vicki will never have him, even though she has no use for him.

Later that evening Larry's long lost wife turns up dead . . . . Strangled by a thin wire. Now the details that will muck it up, but good. Larry’s long lost wife was very fond of nightclub owner Lucky Brandon, and the beautiful nightclub torch-singer was very fond of both Lucky Brandon and Larry. We also learn that Larry’s long lost wife put up the money for the nightclub that Lucky owns, and the suspects are . . . . All of them.

After the police interrogate Larry and Vicki, Vicki returns to her apartment and hears the phone ringing. She opens her apartment door and reaches for the telephone without turning on the lights.

Larry is on the other end of the telephone and he asks her about her time with the cops, and they decide that they must discover Norma’s killer before they can get married and live happily ever after. When Vicki hangs up the telephone she turns into her apartment, and before she can turn on the lights she sees the shadow of a man sitting in her living room staring at her.

More women will die, more cops will spy, and we will hold our breath as a lady-killer is on the loose, and Vicki is in grave danger. We will discover who the mad killer is before the police do, and before the goose-bump ending. Maybe the police will not discover what we know before there is another death. Maybe the police will not discover that the killer is . . . . Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
